Our highly evolved talent is the heart of the New Evolution family.
Founded New Evolution Video Production in 2007 because he had the foresight to see the oncoming realm of digital advertising. By taking a more genuine and engaging approach to combine a visual aesthetic with a clear message so businesses in his community can become more profitable. He has written articles on the subject for Forbes magazine.
Dennis got his start in Hollywood as a key grip on sets before turning to post-production to create film trailers and behind the scenes featureless. He saw the creative potential marketing has to offer. He writes extensively for the blogs on the site and for clients. He has performed stand-up comedy for ten years in 4 countries.
Michael earned a BS in Business Management from the University of Redlands and looked for the opportunity to grow a business from the start. NEV was a perfect fit combining his love of video production and marketing while working directly between the business and creative teams.
4K UHD is replacing High Definition 1080p video by its more advanced successor 4K UHD. There is even 8K available to limited markets. Before diving in wallet first to this new technology you should know if it is worth it. There are some main features to consider as well as some a few current drawbacks. For those who maintain a living in high-quality video production, the age beyond 1080p has arrived.
VHS used to be a viable format. The viewers at the time had no complaints about quality despite being used to the smooth analog of film. 1080p HD seems like it could last forever. However, the eye of the audience grows to the subtleties of the resolution. Once introduced to a better technology the desire for a more precise image increases. By filming in 4K now, you guarantee your projects will have a longer shelf life. Especially when stretched to a 60-inch screen, the quality is much more noticeable than a lesser format. As the years go by this will only become more evident. Boosting a 4K video to an improved resolution will be easier than 1080p.
Because this is a new technology, some clients will want the option to have their video shot in it. Even if they can’t deliver 4K to all their viewers. The crispness is something that sells. If it gets the production agency the job it might as well as pay for itself. Some viewers are searching out 4K and 8K options. They want to test out their screens. Being the first company amongst your competitors is a monopoly on the market.
For visual effects, the more pixels there are to work with means more possibilities for the artists. 4K has twice the amount of pixels over 1080p. So an artist can zoom in twice as close to making effects that much more detailed. This also works if the video is cropped. Sometimes cropping is necessary for stability reasons, other times because the camera can not get close enough.
Not every viewer will be watching in 4K and for mobile screens, there is currently not much of a demand. The cost of replacing your camera is not a light step but necessary every few years for professionals. Sites like YouTube already offer 4K posting and many mobile screens can display the resolution. It is only a matter of time before it becomes the next standard. If the screen you are reading this on can display 4K, check out the video below. Words can be awesomely persuasive but seeing is truly believing.
