How to Make Video Production Easy
Video production is as hard as you make it.
Like all professions, the majority of the hard work rests on the front end as you wind your way through learning new vocabulary and mastering new software. Once mastered, however, everything else is much easier. It’s all about learning each of the tools of the trade prior to actually creating anything. In short, the ease lies with the basics.
As a video producer, I see so many excited new members of the community take on tasks they simply don’t have the tools for.
They’ll go in, realize just how long it’s going to take to learn the tools and apply them and then give up before they’re even half way through. It’s entirely discouraging to realize just how big a project is in light of your own personal preparation, but it doesn’t have to be.
If you’re set on video production, don’t scare yourself away at the start.
Take on small projects that require you to learn one or two things. Practice those again and again until you are comfortable with them. After that, add a few more tools to your bag. Little by little, you’ll begin to lay the foundations for the projects you dreamed of.
Video production is easy so long as you build your skills along the way. Just like a new swimmer is certainly no Olympian, those new to video production need to learn how to tread water before swimming free style.
