A desert in landscape but paradise in creativity, Southern California stands as the continued mecca for video production teams both new and old. Towering above all other cities in Southern California is Los Angeles. Though overcrowded, it still manages to suck in those that seek fame in film. Rife with unions, including the American Society of Cinematographers and the Association of Independent Video & Filmmakers, California offers protection of its budding talent unlike any other state. To further fuel the fire, most local colleges scour the US for talent to ready for professional video production in the Southern Californian market.
Without story, video cannot be. It is in this hotbed of activity that the aspiring filmmakers merge with the aspiring writers and talent. Not adopted by Hollywood, they reach out to one another as a means to see the realization of the dreams they have burning inside. Countless startups dot the landscape to match to countless faces and artists that dream of one day telling their story. In no other city is there such a perfect amalgam of talent, determination and creativity.
Though there are those that still snub their nose at the region, its promise of potential pulls back dreamers time and time again.
