Corporate Video – The Popularity of Live Video 2017
As a whole, society has been fascinated with ‘inside looks’ on people’s lives for quite sometime. What started out as an affection for reality TV, documentaries, and the like, has transformed into something far more personal; live video.
Thanks to social media, live video is a more popular tool than ever before. Facebook, YouTube, and even Instagram have all jumped on the bandwagon, allowing everyday users and businesses alike to give their followers a sneak peak into both ordinary, and extraordinary things.
Why Will the Trend Continue?
It’s important to focus on the word ‘trend,’ when considering what live video really is. Video itself, as far as marketing goes, could be considered a trend. However, it keeps adapting, growing, and changing itself. The live aspect is just another sign of growth, and there’s really no telling at this point what the next level is. For now, though, why is live video important?
We’re looking for new ways to establish a connection. Live video offers businesses the opportunity to really connect with users, customers, etc., in a way that no other marketing tool can. There are no edits, no special effects, and no ‘do-overs.’ People like knowing that some of their favorite businesses, brands, and even notable figures are ‘normal,’ and relatable. As we’ve seen in other marketing trends, the more personable a business is, the better.
What’s more, is that live video streaming is available to everyone. You could go on your Instagram feed and broadcast something right now, just as easily as one of the world’s largest corporation, and they would both likely have similar qualities. The ability to stream live video puts us all on an even playing field, and from a business to consumer standpoint, that seems like a trend that isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
