With artists like: Guns N’ Roses, Calvin Harris, Ellie Goulding, James Bay, G-Eazy, Ice Cube, Cold War Kids, and Sia, it’s no surprise the 3 day event sold out in a matter of minutes. Coachella 2016 kicked off weekend one with a bang!
Both weekends sold out with 90,000 attendees. People traveled from all over the world to get the “Coachella experience.”
If you didn’t get the opportunity to attend this year there were still ways to check out the show. YouTube & VR teamed up to give anyone the chance to experience the festival. YouTube sent video crews to Coachella to live steam performances with a 360-degree view, allowing viewers to take a look around in first-person from their phone, tablet, computer, or television.
There are behind the scenes interviews, commentated footage, and more coverage on the Coachella YouTube channel. The questions arises, does video offer more of an experience to viewers versus festival goers?
YouTube only had live coverage weekend one. However, the highlights from weekend one are still available to view on YouTube. Check out what all the hype is about from the comfort of your home before tickets go on sale for 2017.
